Possible autism?

I know no-one can say for sure, but I have noticed the following with my 4.5 year old daughter and wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences:

  1. She has quite a few friends, but only really likes playing with girls and likes dressing up
  2. She loves drawing and crafts, almost obsessed with it. She also plays with other toys but mostly drawing
  3. She often does make believe play, for example, she will make a phone with paper and string and pretend to be on the phone with me, or will pretend she works in a shop or is a teacher
  4. She doesn't always look at me when I am talking
  5. She is really scared of deep water. We went on holiday a few weeks ago and she hated it, even though she had arm bands on
  6. She doesn't like certain smells, but these are often horrible smells
  7. She talks really well, but doesn't always make full sense when telling a story.
  8. She sleeps for 10 hours a night (but not sure if it should be closer to 12)
  9. She can have tantrums when she loses a board game.
Do you think these could be signs of autism?

Most of these sound the opposite of neurodivergence to me. If this is all that is making you consider autism, I don't think to you need to be worrying.

I agree, that all sounds very age-appropriate behaviour, nothing that would concern me.

sounds all normal. Why would you think she is on the spectrum? What are the challenges you are having?
