Toddlers versus babies

Just wanted to get some opinions/ experiences. My little boy is toddler age and I have noticed a huge shift in people's tolerance levels when we are you and about.
We always go to family friendly places but feel if my DS is anything less than perfectly behaved the general public are not very understanding. He used to get so much positive attention as a baby.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Babies are cute (most of the time) Toddlers are semi feral little creatures frequently asserting their independence and insatiably curious .. and often germ ridden snot bags. = less cute unless they are your own Grin
I'm afraid that's how the world is!

Personally I love toddlers... it's my favourite age , learning to talk, to think for themselves, to have opinions... they are great! But that's probably why I had four and now look after my toddler grandchild :)

But to an awful lot of people toddlers are a noisy attention seeking nusiance!
Also they are no longer new, so they don't have that novelty factor. Don't take it personally, just enjoy yours !

This message sums it up perfectly!
I just feel so sad for them, they must wonder what has changed.
I guess we are biologically designed to find babies adorable..... survival of the species and all that.
