Hi everyone,

just a desperate mum looking for help!

My little girl has seen the feeding team and they have confirmed she has oral aversion she does have reflux and colic which is managed by gaviscon.

I don’t know what more we can do to help her I’ve taking her to the hospital and stayed in for a few nights so they could watch us every feed they have basically told me there’s nothing they can do to help. she just point blank refuses anything once it touches her face. We have tried absolutely everything to get her to have some milk literally everything we have tried:

different bottles
different milk
different feeding positions
different temp of milk
finger feeding tube
cup feeding her
syringe
leaving her until she’s hungry
dream feeding
trying without the gaviscon

Nothing is working she’s not gaining any weight her weight is stagnant she’s otherwise happy on her self just doesn’t want to eat on a good day she has 11oz when for her age and weight she should be on 36oz she was a diabetic baby so was born chunky but she’s lost all that and am worried she is going to end up really ill.

please any tips on how to overcome bottle aversion x

That sounds so worrying. Did they suggest that you read Rowena Bennett's book?

If your DD has reflux, have they ruled out Tongue Tie and CMPA?

@CadyEastman they haven’t mentioned that book. They have tested for tongue tie lip tie which she was fine she’s been checked a few times for this by different doctors health visitors etc. they ruled out CPMA by changing different milks etc

ill have a look at that book am willing to do anything to help

Does he have any of the symptoms in the Tongue tie article that I linked to?

I was also told be several MWs and HCP that my DS definitely didn't have TT but her had it all along.

@CadyEastman No no symptoms of tongue tie so I don’t think it’s that.

I have ordered that book so will give it a go when it comes have you tried that book or have any idea of what it’s about?

No not experienced oral aversion but have seen the book recommended a few times on here by some MNers who have. I know I refused feeds a lot as a baby from what I've been told but I had raging CMPA.
