how about your favourite example of manipulation?

DDs have different Christmas stockings. When we were putting up the Chrsitmas decorations DD1 (4 and a half) notived that her stocking was slightly smaller than dd2s. About half an hour later dd1: "dd2 says she wants that stocking" pointing at the smaller one. Unfortunately for dd1 dd2 was in hearing "NO I DIDN'T". I was so stunned that DD1 had actually dreamt up such manipulation!

Ooooh, hatter, I have experienced much more manipulative manipulation than that - can't remember details now but I know I have! In fact that hardly counts as manipulation at all - just wishful thinking - so please don't be mad at DD1.

My DD1 and DD2 are now 22 and 19, and DS1 is 16; DD1 and DS1 often gleefully recollect how many times they got DD2 into trouble (not difficult given DD2's personality) by making spurious allegations...

dd (3years) usually tells me 'ds said that he wants this and that' ... yes of course... either he's a genius or she's a telepath as he's only 15 weeks old... then again maybe she does understand his gurgling

Generally though she's currently trying the 'playing mum & dad against each other'... if DH said no to something she'll come to me and will ask the same again... I usually say no just in case DH had done so when I was out of ear shot to be on the safe side...

If I try to tell dd not to do something(dropping food from her highchair, touching something she shouldn't) she'll just lean forward and kiss me! What can I do?

I have a dd thats good at kissing, and says sorry mummy before i've even noticed the events that have occured! it makes me melt!!

Shes also good at saying "go in front room mummy" with a finger pointing, when she wants me out of the way so she can have daddy to herself!!! Gosh i feel loved somedays.

Does anyone else have that problem? All day long i am wanted and loved and needed, and then dp steps through the door and i get brushed under the carpet like a bit of old dirt!

Thought i wouldn't be alone with that one!

Some days its great, as i get to get on with all the things i'd been trying to do during the day, but other days i'm a bit put out if i WANT to play with dd and she is insisting i don't and daddy do it!
