My DD is 10 wks old and around 7/8 wks did have about 10 days when she slept beautifully between her 10.30pm feed and about 7am, waking up once around 3-4am. However now just a few weeks later she's all over the shop - waking up at 1.30am, 4am, 5.30/6am and then not settling afterwards. She has a dummy to sleep and I've tried plugging that in but she just won't settle. Even though sometimes it's only been a couple of hours I end up feeding her - she doesn't take a good feed (so I know she's not really hungry) and then falls back to sleep. I'm not sure whether feeding her is just making matters worse or whether I should be trying harder to settle her (although I have tried and she really fusses until I pick her up and feed her).
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should do? Am not sure if I'm making matters worse at this poing....

Could be a growth spurt. In my opinon they all go through phases of waking more and then being hard to settle. Just babies I'm afraid! I'd keep feeding her, she's very young and is probably either hungry or wanting comfort. I kept feeding my ds whenever he wanted, it lets them know that you are there for them and comforts them, making them, feel more secure and more able to sleep through in my opinion!

My ds went through this at about 8 weeks til 10 weeks and then suddenly slpet through at 10 and half weeks (from 7pm- 6am) and has never been much trouble at night unless he's been poorly.

Good luck- it will get better.
