DS2 is 16 weeks and had his second set of injections last thursday and has been severely constipated ever since only having 2 poos about the size of 5p pieces that took him about 10 minutes to produce . He is seeing a chirpractor who has adjusted him this week but she said he might have to go to the GP if no poo by Monday to get some lactose to help him go. Anyone else got any experience of this. He seems very uncomfortable and isn't sleeping well at night at the minute becase of this.

You could try massaging his tummy in clockwise circles, and bicycling his legs. Warm baths can help as well, so maybe try a bath before the massaging and bicycling.

Hope you can get him sorted out soon.

Hi firststeps, my dd1 suffered with awful constipation. You could try putting brown sugar in boiled water and letting it cool to drinking temp then get it down hime. Try 1 heaped teaspoonful to 100mls should work a treat. Please don't worry about giving him sugar, it isn't as tho' you are doing it everyday. It is an old remedy recommended by my friend who is a GP.
Good luck

Echo the brown sugar, i did that with my ds now 12 and pooing fine.! if not try sitting him on a potty !! it opens up the bottom area !! or if he is too small hold his legs up while he is sitting up again promoting the bearing down we do in labour. If no sucess then lactulose from doctor is a solution, Again had this with my ds . JUst for a while until things soften up. Is he bottle fed?? If so just drop down one scoop to the same water it makes it a little less heavy inside him,. poss easier to pass. Good luck XXX
