Hi all
I’ve been told to take metronidazole for a suspected csection incision infection

is this okay to take when breastfeeding?

my doctor said ‘yes it should be’ 😂😂

It should be fine, only small amounts go into breastmilk and most babies are fine with their mum taking it. Occasionally, babies might have loose stools (a common side effect of metronidazole in adults is GI upset). I hope you feel better soon!

La Leche League and NCT have good information about breastfeeding support if you need it.

The BFing Network have a very useful drugs in BM service which I've used a couple of times and found extremely helpful Flowers
