Has anyone else gone back to a grobag after swapping to a duvet??

DD is 15 months and keeps waking up at 5 am slightly on the chilly side. I swapped from a grobag to a duvet about 2 weeks ago because she kept waking up in the wee hours and I thought she may have got herself all twisted and frustrated in her bag. Anyhoo, that all stopped with the duvet but she hasn't learnt how to keep herself covered and was positively freezing this morning. I have put her back in to a grobag tonight, so will see what happens. Has anyone else regressed like this ??

Yes, dd2 kept crawling out from under the duvet and getting cold, so she went back into the bag. Can't remember how long for, but it also solved the problem of her climbing out of the cot.

Yes put dd (20 months) in a duvet around christmas time because I thought it would be comfier. She started waking at 6 instead of 6.30 so she went straight back into the grobag. Am only going to try again when i move her to a bed .

yes - we did duvet at same time as move to big bed (19 months) and he would wake at 5am freezing. After about 10 days where it became apparent he wasn't going to get out of bed to try and walk etc we figured no harm in going back to grobag - so that's what we've done. At nearly 22 months he's still in the grobag. He's such a "mobile" sleeper it seems to suit him better - he also didn't like the bulk of the duvet.

Yes, DS1 still in a grobag at 2.3, we tried a duvet just before Christmas but he was movig around too much and getting out of the covers so we went back to the grobag, he is also still in a cot so like babybore we will probably leave it until he goes into a bed.

We tried a duvet at about that age and ds1 couldn't settle to sleep, he seemed to need the cosiness of the grobag. Used it until he was well over 2 - can't remember exact age..

pippylongstockings · 27/03/2008 21:19

I didn't put my ds1 into a duvet until he went to a big boys bed at 2.4 - didn't really think he got the idea of snuggling under until then. Maybe use the duvet in the day and gro bag at night?

we didn't regress as such but ds was in a grobag till he went into his first bed at about two - and only then because he was very tall for his age and was outgrowing his cot; I'd have happily had him in cot and grobag till he was 3!

Grobag her up

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 28/03/2008 12:00

Hurrah hurrah she slept until 6 instead of 5. I feel curiously refreshed!

She tried to pull the grobag off her when i put her in to bed but soon forgot about it. It's great to know that others have flicked back to the bags too. Thank you for all your replies!

I loved grobags

glad you had an extra hour!

It does take a while to get used to being under a duvet ime. I nearly swapped back too.

However I now take a flat sheet and tuck it over the top of the duvet and under the mattress so it doesn't come off so easily (also stopped DS falling out of bed when we swapped from cot)
