Hyper 5 year old

My 5 year old DD is very kind, bright etc but she has always been very active. She is a late summer baby and is the youngest in her class. She's in Year 1 and doing well.

At the beginning of term when she'd been 5 for less than a week, her teacher said she was unable to stop herself from shouting answers out and was very fidgety (and implied ADHD). At the more recent parents evening the teacher said she's much better in terms of not shouting out and listening. She still gets quite distracted though.

Her behaviour at home and out and about when she's comfortable with whoever she is around (so parents she sees a lot, friends etc) she can be extremely loud, won't listen and is really hyper.

She went on a school trip yesterday and when I bumped into a parent this morning (who went on the trip) I was told that she heard my DD's name being called / shouted out a lot so I'm guessing she wasn't behaving as well as she claimed she did.

I am wondering if we need to start looking at a diagnosis or at least some guidance to help with her behaviour but am not sure where to start. I don't want to take her to a GP and have her think something is wrong with her but I don't know if that is what's meant to happen.

Does anyone have any experience?
