My 4yo DS has done a sudden flip in bedtime behaviour and we’re not sure if it’s something to be concerned about. For weeks he was fighting bedtime like mad, refusing to go up and being a bit of a nightmare generally. We figured it was just a phase and we had to ride it out, and it sure turned out to be…
Seemingly all of a sudden he’s super keen to go to bed every night, taking himself up earlier and earlier every night to the point that he’s just gone up now at 5.30pm (usual time to go up being 7pm)
He has been giving the appearance of being tired but not overly so (as he is the usual grumpy whirlwind when overtired in usual times), and has been falling asleep at least half an hour to 45mins earlier than his usual sleep time. This has been going on for a week or so now.
In a way it’s a delight for me and DH with stress-free bedtimes and having nice long evenings but we’re getting a bit concerned that it could be a symptom of something although I can’t really find anything by googling. He’s fine in himself otherwise.
Does anyone have any advice? Is it worth consulting a GP just in case?
