My First post but I feel like after today's episode I need some inputs on how to overcome this episode

Took my 3 year old to her first ever swimming lesson, she's been so excited ever since she went swimming on holiday last year we then took another holiday just a few weeks ago and she loved the pool again we then thought swimming lessons would be great for her asked her and to which she was ecstatic about however as she entered the session it was all tears from there on and the instructor was kind enough to comfort her but she carried on to the point where the instructor at one point did look like she had, had enough of her tears. So I was quite stressed out and had mix emotions at the end of the whole thing and my little one then said she didn't want ever go again not sure whether I should take that as cancel the whole thing or try again on her second session and let her learn and try and be more confident as it's such a good life skill to have.... thoughts and opinions on the matter would be good? Do I keep on trying or give up

As she is just 3 I personally think you give up for now. They don't really have the ability to follow instructions or the coordination to do until about they are about 5 anyway.

I would respect her wishes and not go back. Otherwise you are doing a bit of damage with her trust in you. She was crying and asked to never go back. So respect that for now. However remember that never in a 3 year olds brain could only be a matter of weeks or months.

Yes swimming an essential skill but she doesn't need to learn just yet.

This also is a bit unfair on the instructor if your is crying and disrupting the class. If she has a bunch of 3 year olds to look after it could be stressful. I guess they had parents with them in pool though.
