My 13 yo son seems to be sleep walking a lot lately. It is usually only wanders about in his bedroom, but we have just been away for the weekend and he managed to get out of the (open doored adjoining ) room and into the corridor. Luckily, while still asleep he knocked on the door, which we heard, and let him in! He has no memery of any of it, and we have no idea how long he was out of the room. He remembers dreaming he was in the wrong room, thats all. A while ago at home he went running downstairs and tried to get out the door, but I caught him! As funny as it is in hindsight, I am fairly worried about it now. Especially because he is due to go camping with the scouts this weekend! Any ideas what I could do with him? anyone experiencing this too? Thanks

My ds aged 11 has had spells of sleep walking for several years. He has very occasionally done it on holiday, but never when away from us. He has been on several Cub camps and a school holiday, without incident - although I have always warned the Leaders and advised them what to do if he 'wanders'. If he has only just started, is he worried about something (maybe even the camp?). My ds definitely sleep walks more when worried about an exam or important event.
I would let him go camping, but ask that he sleeps in the middle of the tent so he cannot get out without walking over someone else, and hopefully waking them up!

Agree with hermit. (dd sleepwalks and once nearly wandered out of a hotel room. Luckily i heard her before she got too far).

Could they hang some windchimes at the entrance to the tent? It is worrying.
