Nappy changing

Hello!

Apologies if this is the wrong topic for this thread I'm looking for some advice re nappy changing for a newborn.

My baby is 6 days old. I'm trying to change after a feed while he is still awake but as soon as I put the new nappy on he poops again - sometimes I have to do three changes in a row. The midwife said it's sometime best to wait 30 mins after a feed to change but by then he's always asleep again and I've read you're not supposed to wake a sleeping baby to change their nappy...

Anyone have any advice on this??

Thanks so much in advance!

It's such a long time since I've had to change a nappy that I really can't remember.

Just wanted to say congratulations though and I hope you get some answers soon Flowers

There are always some cases when you should wake sleeping baby - if they sleep in unsafe position (like in baby bouncer), if they are newborn and haven't had feed in 6 hours and some more.
Don't worry, they should go back to sleep soon if they are tired.

Thanks @oldnorsesaga ! Maybe will just do that- feels like the safer option than 5 changes in a row :)
