Hi, my little boy turned 3 in December, he is speech delayed and we've been to our local child development centre who've given us a S&L referral after their initial assessment and then further support from other services if we need it, we do suspect as a family he may have ASD/ADHD as nursery have him on a SEN plan.
His speech is coming along we see a lot of progress and he's not social enough to play with others at nursery but he can play alongside others and at a recent friends party he was happy to play with a little boy the same age.
Nursery have commented he won't sit for story time and goes off to play, also once he's finished his food he won't sit and wait for others he'll get up and go back to playing. When we're out at a family meal which is rare he won't sit for long even with his iPad he'll like to wander around and explore which is lovely he's inquisitive but also not ideal when we're chasing round after him, any help is much appreciated how we could encourage him to sit for longer as nursery seemed to have no answers, they have bribed him with his dummy, sweets etc to sit for longer or come back and sit with the group but it doesn't last long before he's up again.
