Suddenly refusing to stay over

Over the last few weeks, there has been a change in my daughter (9). Normally she is happy to stay over at grandparents' house etc when I need to go out or away for work.

It has never been a problem in the past. But on the last few occasions, she has either not wanted to go, got upset on the way or was distraught when there. In each case I have had to go and collect her as she wont settle.

Tried talking to her, but she is very closed off (a bit like me) and cant explain why she feels like that or is upset.

I dont want to force the issue and make her upset, and also make her think that I am abandoning her or not there for her. On the other hand, I dont want to let it become a bigger issue by avoiding sleep overs.

Not sure what to do....
