Was your child showing signs of ASD, but then it turned out that was not the case?

I see red flags everywhere and then I convince myself that my son will grow out of them. My son is 2.7, started pointing and imitating at 24 months, but he does not respond to his name yet (has been diagnosed with receptive language delay). He does pretend play and he has joint attention. He is acquiring language at a good pace but he is using words to describe things and has not yet figured out that he can use words to ask for things.
Anyone with a similar situation?

Sorry @needhopeandluck mine was showing signs and is now on the pathway. It's not all bad though. She's at college, works and has just gone out with her BF for a meal for Valentine's.

If not already, try and get him signed up to be tested. He seems to be showing all the signs especially at his age ❤️ They are beautiful children ❤️

@NewBabyGirl2020 Not sure he is showing all the signs...he scores low 2 on MCHAT and another similar testing tool we have used. It all comes down to understanding his name and instructions. We do not have repetitive movements or problem behaviour. The GP actually suggested we wait longer for a reliable diagnosis. From what I read as well, 70% of the children diagnosed before the age of 3 do not carry the diagnosis after the age of 6. They basically grow out of the 'red flags'. It is all a bit confusing.
