My DS is really affectionate but recently whilst kissing and snuggling he's sunks his teeth in- it's agony and on a few occasions he's bruised me. The other day at soft play he did it to another baby. I've been sternly saying 'no' and putting him down away from me/other for a moment before returning to him and saying something like 'we don't bite/say sorry' My worry is he is so little and doesn't know what he's doing or mean to do it- he thinks he's kissing. I know I have to nip it in the bud pronto but is this the best way? I'm worried that he'll stop kissing/snuggling as a consequence. Any tips?

carry on with what you are doing - my ds did this too - just tell him no very sternly and remove him from the situation - my son wouldn't let go so i would just pinch the end of his nose closed so he had to let go - he used to bite while b/feeding too - lucky for us he only bit his family

thanks, he just looks sooooo upset when I say no and put him down and he cries for ages. I'm worried about knocking the affection out of him

ahhh - they do tug your heartstrings don't they
mind you i wouldn't leave him to cry for ages - he's too young for time out!

Your doing the right thing - he is little but it doesn't mean he's too young too learn.
Actions have consequences.

My sister was always (and still is) very soft on her DS... this has resulted in him drawing blood form my DS1 when he bit him as he decided he didn't like my DS sitting on Nanny's knee - even just today he pinced my mum whilst 'being a crab' and left horrible marks on her arms....

Yes there are tears when you say no but in the long run they will be nier children to be around - the tears are temporary!
