How do I get my 10 month old to start weaning?
I have nursed exclusively for the past 9 months because, for reasons best known to herself, my now 10 month old daughter decided at just a few weeks old that expressed milk was simply not for her. She has been attached to me ever since.
I love her so much but her inability to be separated from me (we even cosleep) is exhausting.
She is the only one of my 5 children who has refused expressed milk from a bottle. The others were happy to have bottled breastmilk.
Maybe because it's been so long since I had a baby that I don't remember it being so exhausting, I dunno.
How can I encourage her to not want to nurse herself to sleep when she's tired, to not want to nurse when she's bored, and to not want to nurse just for the sake of it? Or is this behavior completely normal for exclusively breastfed babies?
