clingy 10 month old....

Just wondering what your day is like with a 10 month old dd. Mine seems very clingy - whenever i'm in the room, she needs to be touching me, even if dad is there trying to engage her. If I'm not in the room or she can't see me, she's fine. SHe cries and whines if she doesn't get her way (i.e. being held by me). She seems far too young to try and ignore her, but is that what I should be doing? Just staing in the room, but making her get on with it? I wonder if I've given her too much attention until now. So far, she's not crawling or walking yet, so mostly when she is awake and not eating, I am sitting with her in her play area entertaining her or going on outings. Is this what other do? Should I just be plopping her down and doing other things? I've not actually observed other mums and babies go about their daily business at home, so am not sure what they get up to all day - any input appreciated!

this is a normal part of development. it is good that she is clingy to you it shows that you and she have a good strong bond. this is good fir her overall development. i think you are doing everything you should be, just grin and bear it, yes its hard work, but they are only little once. enjoy your time with her
