He's 3.5, is he about the right size or looks small? Also is the protruding belly a concern?

How tall is he?

Have you weighed and measured him? You can plot it in his Red book and it will tell you if he's following his centiles?

If you're worried though, take him to the local weigh in bionic run by the HVs. Taking toddlers to get weighed and measured there is fine Wink

Agree, you need to measure his height and weight and plot it in his red book (or ask the HVs to do it). Then you can see if he's following roughly the same centile.

Lots of 3.5 year olds still have a bit of a belly (basically the abdominal muscles aren't strong enough yet to hold everything tighter in). If he eats well and uses the toilet normally, then usually it's nothing to worry about (unless it feels hard/swollen or is painful).

I seem to have misplaced the red book but would the docs have all the info from it?
