6yo daughter picking nose and making it bleed

My nearly 7yo daughter is incessantly picking her nose recently, to the point that it is sore, crusty and bleeding.
It is a habit that has increased and developed over several months, but I don't know how to stop her doing it as I don't even know if she realises she is doing it, and she seems to see it as abit of a game.
She giggles and talks about how she likes the taste of the blood and the snot (gross I know!) I've tried to help her understand that is not a nice or fun thing to do as ir is yucky and is also hurting her poor nose.
I've tried ignoring it but it still happens.
She often has to have some sort of sensory thing she does....chewing on parts of her clothes, hair, grinding teeth have all been phases she has had.
She is quite young for her age and being assessed for ASD.
Any ideas how to help her stop/divert this?

Would plasters on her fingers make It different enough sensory wise to stop it?

Is your DD doing the same @ChitterChatter1987?

How's your DD now @Twolittleloves?

Yes she is! Does yours?? Keep thinking she might grow out of it but hasn't happened yet.I do remember doing the same at probably an even older age although think I hid it better! 🤦‍♀️ Just don't want her to get picked on for it (excuse the pun!)
