She will not do anything she is asked unless she is yelled at. I am not a shouty person, and hate losing my temper, but she is intent on pushing every button going until I explode at the moment.
She is basically an only child (her 20 year old sister is at uni), I’m a single parent, she gets 100% of my attention when we are at home together, and I try not to nit pick about things but she just keeps doing really dangerous or stupid things (one thing today was getting the hamster out of the cage and throwing it at the wall because I started washing up and so took my attention off her), or she just argues with me or blanks me until she gets a reaction. I miss the little girl she used to be. School has been closed since Tuesday because of the ice, and the thought of another three days stuck inside together before she goes back on Monday is making me want to sob! Please tell me this is a common phase!
