Grabbing / reaching for things

New mum here. My 17 week old (just turned 4 months) isn’t reaching for toys. She has no interest in grabbing them. Even when I’m dangling them in her face. She looks at them no problem but when I place them in her hands she holds them for a minute or so then drops them. I’ve bought all sorts of toys to help but I don’t know what else to do. Can’t help but compare my baby to others. Anyone else?

Have a look at the Ages & Stages for 4 months. It gives you an idea of what they should be doing with toys.

If you're concerned at all, fill in the questionnaire and ask your HV to score it.

Incidentally my DD was never good at grabbing things but her fine motor skills improved considerably once she got glasses Wink
