Am I doing enough to stimulate my 8m

Hi all. Just looking for some reassurance or advice / tips.

im a FTM and my partner is currently working oversees so its just me and the baby. I’m so fixated on her development as it’s only me doing it and I just want to do the best job.

I play with her as much as I can. We read, sing nursery rhymes, go to baby groups, walks. I try and narrate everything to her although not gonna lie it’s hard to talk to a baby all the time when you don’t get much back. I do some sensory play at home.

she can crawl, was sitting up at 5.5m unaided, has started pulling herself up, said mama although has now stopped this not sure why.

is there anything else I can be doing or should? Should she be babbling more? She makes noises however doesn’t say baba or dada. Like I said the mama has stopped for some reason.

They can stop one learned skill while working on another, so I wouldn't worry. My husband works abroad too, so I know how it feels when it's just you and the baby- you notice every little thing! It sounds like you are doing loads with her and that she's doing really well. I really enjoyed that age with my daughter when my husband was away- they learn things so quickly and there's lots of fun to be had!

It sounds like you are doing loads with her! My baby wasn't babbling at 8 months and now makes lots of noises at 14 months, so I wouldn't worry.

Do you take her swimming, out of interest? I would recommend that as an activity. Also, at 8 months she is old enough to go in a baby swing at the park, or on a seesaw with you- my baby loves this.
