4yr old autism traits

my 4 year old daughter she has some traits of autism at the moment as I’ve been told by many people and speech and language therapist and could see for myself , my social worker has applied for her to go to a special education school for children with special needs but my daughter isn’t diagnosed with anything . Recently she has been going to a regular nursery and has picked up so much from it including her speech . I’m just thinking if she goes to a special needs school wouldn’t do her good and may fall behind again ? A bit worried about sending her there as she isn’t even diagnosed and has been improving in her regular nursery but her free hours would be over in 2 months at her nursery until September so she’ll be leaving her nursery soon

You say she is 4 - so I guess she will starting school. In September?
Why does your social worker think that she needs a special needs school ?
I have an adult son with asd - so I have been through this - In my experience child ren who are undiagnosed with autism tend to start at a main stream school unless special needs are really great.
If you have seen improvement at nursery then she should at least be given the opportunity to start her school life in a mainstream setting.

I would talk to your social worker to find out their reasons. My DS started school in September just gone. Hes on a pathway for an autistic diagnosis but not diagnosed yet. He's in mainstream and so far is doing well. He had speech delay in nursery but improved a lot. He had some speech therapy at school but can be mostly understood now.
