"Don't like mummy"

2yo keeps saying "don't like mummy" and how she wants daddy instead. I know I can't take it personally, she is two, but I can't say it's not a bit upsetting when she pushes me away and doesn't want cuddles etc.

Yesterday my DC took me over to the kitchen bin: "Mummy bin. Mummy in bin."

I felt that was a bit harsh.

They can be brutal at this age, we need to remember that they do still love us and need us. Part of why they can push and test out rejecting with us is that they know our love for them isn't going to go away.
