My son is 6 and has asd. Lately he says he has imagination friends. They are usually characters from things he likes. So Peter pan, sonic etc... he knows they aren't real but will talk to them if we're out or sometimes say they're coming over to play. He's a sociable boy but also likes quiet time as too much socialising makes him feel overwhelmed and tired. Is this normal ? I'm worried he's feeling lonely or something rose going on in his head, but he doesn't communicate his feelings well. He seems happy though.
