Is this normal for a 7 year old?

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice. DSS is 7. DH and I have some concerns but aren’t sure if his behaviour is appropriate.
First of all, he cries everyday over very minor things - unable to open his bottle for example. He is also unable to dress himself properly. He puts his clothes on back to front and puts fresh pants on top of pants he is already wearing. He can’t put socks on and cries when he is encouraged to do it himself. Last thing - he pees everywhere. Everytime he goes to the toilet, the pee is all over the floor and toilet mat.

Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hi @RoseA89
Do you think he could be struggling with his motor skills, which makes him cry with frustration. The exemples you quoted make me think of dyspraxia

@Margauxdes I thought about dyspraxia but he can do other things like ride a bike, so I wasn't sure!

W wouldn't say it was regular behaviour for a 7 year old, no. Who have you spoken to about it already?

@RoseA89 maybe worth asking your gp a referral to see an OT. What is he like when eating, does he use his knife and fork? What's his handwriting like? My son has suspected dyspraxia, still waiting for an official diagnosis. He can also ride a bike
