Tummy time - how long and how often?

DD is 10wks, supports her head well, how long should she be spending on her tummy? And should I be making sure it happens every day? She doesn't mind it for a bit but tries to crawl and then gets mardy when she can't.

i used to give ds a couple of minutes a day, he's 6 months now, but i think it's different for all. some babies hate it but still crawl and stuff at about the right time so just let her for as long as she allows?

I would say give her as long as she wants/is comfortable with. I don't think it needs to be a regime - DD hated it until she was quite big (few months at least - until she could roll over herself) so we didn't bother - just let her do her own thing and she hasn't come to any harm - nearly walking at 14 months

They do seem to get frustrated and grumpy! Enjoy your LO and don't worry x

(HVs would be SHOCKED and apalled by what I just said lol)

Excellent - thank you, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Will carry on as I am and stop worrying about it!
