Baby rolling in cot and getting stuck

My baby is 9 months old and can happily roll both ways when he’s playing downstairs on his mat…but when he sleeps in his cot at night he seems to get stuck on his front and can’t roll back (or doesn’t want to try!). I’m wondering if it’s the sleeping bag he’s in that’s making it hard…? But he doesn’t even seem to really try, he just cries until we flip him over. He will also happily sleep on his front too, but if he wakes up he seems to get frustrated.

We put him back in the Snuzpod for a while so he had less room to roll, but he’s way too big for it now…and he’d usually sleep through the night but is now waking frequently because of this!

Help!!

Oh I remember that stage. He'll start rolling over by himself it's just incredibly frustrating for you until he does Gin

Could you maybe give him time during the day to practice rolling in his cot? Just a couple of times a day pop him in there on his tummy and help him roll onto his back. Might help him just learn how to do it - perhaps he finds it harder to roll on the mattress than the floor as it’s softer etc.

Don't use the sleeping bag, you'd be annoyed at getting caught up in one too in the middle of the night 😁

OP did your baby stop doing this? My 7.5 month old does it every night multiple times and it's been going on for 4 weeks....how much longer do I have left 🤣
