My little one has just turned 3 and has been at pre school 2 mornings a week since September. He's always happy going/leaving each day and says he enjoys it.
But at the end of term the teacher said that although he's doing ok, he doesn't join in with the other kids at all, or if there's lots of kids playing with something he will avoid it/move away and play with something else. They also say he's very quiet.
Should I be worried about this, or is it quite common at this age? He's been there 3 months so I thought he'd have settled by now, but perhaps I'm expecting too much.
At home he's very confident and chatty, and on play dates he'll happily play with his friends and isn't shy with them or anything. But I am always present at the play dates and it's kids he knows very well. It just seems to be at nursery that he's quiet/reserved.
