Im FTM and very anxious. My 18 month old son I feel is quite behind. He babbles and says mumma and dadda but no other words no matter how much I repeat them or talk to him. He knows that I'm mummy and daddy is daddy. He doesn't follow simple commands. He doesn't wave and rarely claps. He doesn't point. He's also very ignorant and I know he can hear me.but if I call his name sometimes he will just ignore me. He is the same with his dad. He's a very happy child with his own sense of humor and personality. He plays with his toys but again, he won't stack toys or blocks. He won't hold a pencil. I've done the ages and stages questions and there is so many things on there that he just cannot/will not do. His mobility is good. The only thing he can't do is walk down steps yet. He won't hold a spoon and lick up food with it but if I sill the spoon and give it to him he will feed himself. He won't drink out of a sippee cup or beaker let alone a cup. He still had bottles for his juice. I told my HV I had concerns but she said done worry until he is 2. I feel shit. I spend all my time.with him, constantly talking and playing. I try to read him books and show him pictures, animals etc but I can't keep his attention for longer than two mins. He gets bored easily and just walks off. He's also very hitty and hits me quite a lot in the face, kicks me, bangs his head on me. He's an only child so I can't see why he would learn this. Its really stressing me out. Am I right to be concerned?

Hiya. This sounds exactly like my son. So worried and find the health visitor a bit dismissive. I worry constantly about it. Just wondering if anyone replied to you wit some advise. ♥️
