Stranger (not so much) danger!

My daughter is 18 months and mega confident! I always thought this was a positive thing but something today has shaken me.

She will often go up to people and give them a hug or ask to be picked up by reaching her arms up. This is normally fine as with people I know at baby groups or parties etc but today she did it in a museum and was picked up by a random woman!!! I think it was all totally innocent on this woman’s part but I am really shaken and worried now that anyone could take her as she’s so confident in approaching people. I had her on a harness and was right beside her this wasn’t out of sight I just was shocked this lady picked her up I couldn’t quite comprehend it. I obviously took her straight away!!!!

How do I teach her stranger danger so young?! Do I need to prevent her from going up to anyone at all?

id like to hear you’re advice, I feel absolutely sick at the thought that this could have gone differently.
