Cannot get baby sleep in cot

Help.

My Lo is nearly 8months old. She refuses to sleep in cot despite countless attempts. She will nap on me, pram or car.

if I do get her to sleep in the cot it’s only for 25-30 mins max. I really want her to nap longer but just cannot get her to do so.

what can I do? Will she eventually or ever start doing longer naps in there.

she will eventually start napping longer in her cot don’t worry. It can be super frustrating I know my daughter was the same but she eventually just took to it. Until that point I walked with her in the pram… or fed her to sleep!

You’ve just made me feel so much better. It’s been one of those days where I could just cry.

at what age do they tend to start napping longer? I know it would be different for each baby but I feel like I could hold out knowing there’s hope at like 9/10 months lol x

my lo is also fed to sleep. She’s ebf. X

My daughter was ebf too and it was the magical power I had to get her to sleep!

like you said it’s different for every child but you’re their safe space, their home, their comfort. It’s a short time in the grand scheme of things but feels like a lifetime when you’re in it. They will get there I promise, you’re doing great.

I’m afraid to say our 21 month old still won’t sleep in his cot, it got better but still not great. I know when I was at your stage I was desegregate to find a guarantee that it will get better - I hope it does for you, but know even if it doesn’t it does still get easier. Our son was exactly the same as yours at 8m and also ebf. He now can do an hour - 2 hours in his cot for nap/night time, but at night often still ends up with us by midnight after multiple wakes. Going to try a toddler bed in the new year and hope that makes a difference 🙏

Desperate - not sure what the auto correct to desegregate was 🙈
