Boisterous forever or just a phase?

I have been gifted with a wonderful 4yr old DS and a DS who is six months old.

However, DS is very heavy handed and plays rough a far bit. School tells me this and I do see it myself. He isn't always boisterous and off the wall but when he's at home he is throwing himself around and it's exhausting to watch 😆 He does play calmly and can chill but when he has energy, my goodness he can play rough. He's a wonderful brother and respect that he has to be calm and have 'kind hands'

He's the largest child in his class and his friends are also way smaller than him even though they're the same age. He was tested for autism and was discharged straight away with no concerns.

My question is, does anyone have a similar child who grew out of it or is it just a personality trait. Either or I am happy but just curious.

It's unusual that you got as far as being assessed and were dismissed instantly. There must have been quite a few indications that he had it for you to get as far as assessment. Was he assessed for ADHD too?

Hey

It's quite a long story but oddly there wasn't any indications on our part and wasn't difficult to get assessed in the area we live. Our HV offered and we accepted and was a short assessment. The reason DS was assessed was the poor choice of nursery who suggested we did it ( many other parents struggled with this nursery and have recently closed) it's a very long story 😅. Hv agreed our DS was boisterous and struggled to listen.

Ok so if school are saying he's very heavy handed, what are they suggesting? Are they saying that he should go for assessment again?

The school aren't suggesting another assessment no because he had the assessment already. There are a couple of children who play rough in the class which I'm sure many classes have.

Just curious to know if any other Mumnetters children grew out of it or this was a characteristic?
