HV asked if my 27 month year old tells me about her day !?

Hi all - we had my DDs 2 year development review today - she is 27 months. It went okay but in the Communication section the HV asked if my DD tells me about her day at nursery - the things she did at nursery and who she played with etc. I was quite shocked at the question - as my DD is no where near being able to do that. She has tonnes of words (around 200) and puts two words together like 'more milk' and 'red ball' and has some 3 words sentences but she isn't at a level where she tells me about her day. Then I thought oh God is she really behind - and should she be able to do this!?

What's normal for a 27 month old when it comes to speech!?

She sounds fine. The 27 month questionnaire does ask about 3-4 word sentences, which is sounds like she is just starting to do, but the questionnaires don't expect 6 'yes' answers. Four 'yeses' is enough for 'development appears on track' in that particular section. There's nothing about telling you about her day. I think the shorter red book questionnaires might ask that at 3 years, but that's ages yet.
