5 year old grinding teeth!

Hi everyone,

Our 5 year old grinds his teeth and squirms around a lot some nights. OH said he recalls doing it as a teenager when he was stressed about an extremely difficult family event. I should say I've noticed grinding because DS usually comes into my bed around 2am. Some nights he then sleeps well, others not at all.

However, as far as I'm aware DS is happy. He is willing to say if he's not. Things are going well at school etc.. I'm pregnant but he's really happy about the idea of a sibling.

Any ideas what to do. I'm both worried about how it will affect the condition of his teeth and some nights where it happens we're both exhausted.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to advise @Historybooks but our almost 5yo does the same thing - comes into our bed at 1/2am, grinds his teeth throughout the night and tosses and turns a lot. I'm here in case anyone has any magic answers...

Thanks.

It has got a bit better. It seems to happen when he's sleeping too lightly. And that seems to happen if he's hungry because he didn't properly eat dinner, or drink too much and needs a pee.

We're trying to get this aspect right.
