Just looking for any similar experiences or ideas of what to do about this as it's been going on for months now.
DD is 20 months. Every night when we start her bedtime routine, she protests, cries and screams until she's in her cot. We thought this would just be a phase but it's been going on for months now.
Routine is bath, go into bedroom and get pjs on, have some milk, brush teeth, then bedtime story and into bed. It's strange because we tell her it's bedtime and she's happy to get her milk and go into her room but as soon as we start getting her into her pyjamas she becomes hysterical from that point until she goes into the cot.
She sometimes settles down a bit when we read her bedtime story and is usually fine by the time we're putting her in the cot, she's happily waving bye bye and then goes straight to sleep.
Things we've tried:
Earlier bedtime, later bedtime, no messing about at all just really quick change into pjs quick book and straight into bed, really taking time with everything lots of cuddles and trying to soothe, getting ready for bed downstairs then only taking into bedroom to put into cot.
Nothing has really worked so far and I thought she would have just moved past the phase by now. I hate seeing her so upset and just wish there was something we could do, so any wisdom would be very appreciated!
Also to add, she sleeps at my mam's every couple of weeks and is the complete opposite, loves bedtime and doesn't cry at all!
