Throwing everything out of highchair... Help!

Hi,

My 13 month old has started to throw everything I give him out of the highchair - toys, drinks, food - the lot. He also throws in other situations too, but throwing the food and drinks around is really getting me down. He's our 1st child and I really don't know how to deal with this...? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Just ignore him - he has decided that this is a great game as it gets a reaction out of you - serve him his dinner, and let him eat it - if he throws it - ignore it nd just carry on with lunch - he'll soon realise it isn't fun and he won't get a reaction/attention. As he is 13 months is there anyway he could sit up the table rather than in a high chair - that might help him feel more "grown up"

This isn't going to help at all, but it is just one of the phases that they all go through, DS2 is doing the same at the moment, along with throwing things out of his buggy.

I don't really think there is much you can do about it, just sit tight and wait for it to be forgotten!

Though, if anyone does have some better adivce, I'd like to hear it as well!

He's having fun watching you pick it up! Leave it where it is and ignore it, he'll learn to stop when he's not getting the desired effect. Don't leave food on the highchair or once he's thrown it, take him out and just tell him that he must be finished now.
