So little one is 2 years and 4 months now and I’ve a few concerns but dont know if I’m just overthinking or if there could be something going on.
So his speech seems very delayed he only says a handful of words eg. Mummy, daddy, bus, shoes. Other words he tries to say i might know what he means but others wouldnt be able to work it out. So the speech delay has been a worry but over the past couple of months he has started to display other strange behaviours. He will constantly eat any cardboard he can get his hands on and when i say eat I mean proper chews and swallows it not just bites a bit off and then spits it out. He also sucks on any wet washing, towels he can get his hands on and other thing like chalk and even though he knows it doesnt taste nice he cant help but go back for more!
Is this normal as my older son never did this!!
Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, that does seem out of the ordinary behaviour. It sounds like he's sensory seeking with what you've described, and his speech does seem delayed for his age. Have you spoken to your health visitor? I would think he needs a referral to speech and language therapy x
