When I ask my 3 y/o if he had a good day at nursery and whether he played with his friend, he will often say 'no, he's gone home'. He always seems to think I'm asking him to do something right in the moment rather than asking if he did something earlier, if that makes sense. He also has trouble with understanding that things will take place in the future.
Not related to tense, but on the same lines of not understanding what I'm asking, I'll sometimes ask if he wants a drink and he very angrily says no as if I'm forcing him.
Does this all sound quite normal or is there a way of getting the message across to him better?
