Hello MNers!

My 18 week old ds has just started to sleep through the night hurrah! However when he sleeps from 7-7 it means he only has 4 feeds in 24 hours - should I add another feed in during the day now to ensure he gets 5?

All advice gratefully received!

Thanks

I think if he's sleeping through then he's getting enough. My ds has 2 full cups of milk per day, half a cup after he's afternoon nap. Thats about 18-20 onces per day. He has ceral and toast for breakfast, fruit mid morning, lunch , snack mid afternoon (pancake, biscuit etc) and then dinner about 5ish. sometimes if he doesn't eat much at dinner then i'ii give him a little supper like toast or ceral. hope this hepls.

sorry, scrap that message.isread 18wk for 18mths. although my first comment still stands (ie) if he's sleeping through then he's probably getting enough. happy sleeping!

Thanks! I have a feeling the joy of a 12 hour sleep isn't going to last anyway!!

My 4mth old charge has been sleeping through 6.30pm til 7amish for the last month! She would only ever take 1oz at 10.30pm so we dropped that feed. She never wakes hungry for a bottle and will quite happily wait til 7.45am for it! I think as long as they continue to sleep and are gaining weight, there is no need to worry. She was diagnosed with silent reflux last week so is finally taking more milk but before that some days I could only get 15oz down her and she still slept! Just enjoy a decent nights sleep! Working as a nanny for 15 years, I've found once in a good sleep routine, babies tend to stay that way. As I'm 28weeks pregnant with my first, I hope mine will be as good!!!
