9 months old and not crawling

It's so hard not to compare. DS1 (now almost aged 4) was crawling and pulling himself up to stand at this point. DS2 (9 months old) is showing zero signs of wanting to crawl.
He sits and brings his body forward when he tries to reach something.
When I lay him on his tummy, he doesn't even try and bear weight on his arms, he just rolls back onto his back.

Meeting all other milestones fine. Are some babies just not crawlers?!!

@FebMama

my DS sat at about 5 months old and literally just sat and sat and sat didn’t attempt to do anything I got really worried when he got to 11 months and still wasn’t crawling they put him in for physiotherapy they said nothing wrong with him at all no muscle or bone problems and them 3 days after his first birthday he started crawling , at 13 months pulled to stand and cruising round furniture at 14 months took first steps and now at just turned 15 months he’s walking all round the house climbing the stairs etc it all came very quickly! If your speak to HV they may get physio to take a look at him

My little one is 8 months and is the exact same. He sat at 5 months, can twist his body to reach things etc. As soon as he’s on his belly he rolls onto his back and just lays there. Has absolutely no desire to crawl. He loves to stand holding onto furniture and our hands and spends all day walking around the room holding us or his Walker.
Everyone just keeps saying he’s going to go straight to walking. A friend of a friend is a HV so asked her about it and she said some babies don’t ever crawl and some just take longer to want to crawl. She didn’t seem too concerned, but did say to try to encourage other movements - so sometimes I’ll prop him up on his knees infront of a toy so he can practice balancing like that or practice pulling himself up. I’ve notice that he can’t get into a positron to be able to pull himself to stand, because he doesn’t get into a crawling position so I’m trying to teach him how to twist his legs under him so he can push with his legs to standing instead of just using his arms to pull.

@Raeleigh24 thank you. Contacted HV today and she said to mention it at his developmental check in a few weeks but not to worry too much.

@Richie23 thank you for those suggestions. My LO also likes to be on his feet (being propped up of course) so maybe he will bypass crawling completely! Who knows.

My baby turns one in 5 days and is still not crawling or bum shuffling, so you're not alone!
