8 week old smiling question

Hi all!
My DS turned 8 weeks today and he smiled for the first time at 7 weeks exactly. Since then he's only smiled like once or twice a day. It takes work to get him to smile. Can be a serious or grumpy baby.

My DD smiled at 5 weeks and was very smily early so not sure if this is normal and he will smile more as weeks go on?

When I talk to him he's very easy to coo at me. Ahh and ooo and goo and gurgle sounds a lot. Very happy to interact. Great eye contact and looks at me for interactions a lot. Follows me around the room etc

Everything else on track too.

Reassurance needed :/ thanks in advance x

Sounds normal to me. My little one is 8 months and does smile more now, like when he sees me across the room, but when he was younger it would be hard to get a smile. When we see other people he tends to look at them very seriously before giving a small shy smile, but my friends baby the same age gives everyone big grins straight away.
It’s just different temperaments. Even now he only really laughs if he hits you and you say ouch 🙄
