Has my 3 year old developed a tic

My son started nursery recently and he hasn't settled very well. He's been crying the majority of the time and they have had to call me to come and get him.

Since he started his dad and I noticed he has developed this habit of blinking and scrunching his eyes up frequently which he never had before. When I asked him what was wrong he said something flew into his eye at the garden centre (we haven't been to a garden centre in week).

I wondered if it was a nervous/anxiety thing?

I've made an appointment for him at the opticians but his eye looks normal to me.

It's just funny it's coincidence with him starting nursery.

It's really common for little ones to develop a tic, they come and go, sounds like it firs with the upset you notice with nursery

Is he generally very nervous?

@ExplodingSmittens never he's the most confident and outgoing child however since staging nursery he's been really upset and clingy.
