so i thought i knew loads about dd's development, but i didn't know (doh) that her back molars would be making an appearance at this age!!

Dentist showed me these two pink humps, and i was surprised as anything. I had no idea she didn't have these, was gonna get these now!!

I think I remember getting mine around that age... well, I certainly remember getting through the tubes of bonjela, so I guess it was that!

oh, dear!! God yes, bonjela, that rings a bell.

Iwas just surprised that I had no idea about these molars!! there's me thinking I am so clued up with allthe time I spend on mn, and the net generally. ijust had a look at a few site, and some of the xrays of kid's mouth at this age are really cool. Youcan see all the adult teeth just sitting there dormant underneath, waiting.

lol, god i'm a sucker for new info!!!

I was always surprised by what teeth do what & when. With each child I remember thinking, must remember that, and forget again - so am glad you mentioned the molars as child 3 is now 5.5

They took me by surprise too!

DS1 is 7 and has 4 new molars now

I realised, of course, that all the baby ones had to go but it never occurred to me that somehow or other 20 little teeth had at some point become 32 big teeth and therefore it wasn't just a case of replacing like with like.

As you say 'doh'
