What's causing my 3 year old's spots?

Hi, my daughter has always had clusters of tiny spots on her cheeks. Usually they are not noticable, only when you look close up and in the cold they go red or purple. They somtimes inflame and look like teenage spots, Only one at a time.
I just wondered what it might be and if I could get rid of them. They don't seem to cause her any discomfort. Recently she has had an eruption of these spots on her bottom. It's not nappy rash as they are just 3-4 big spots. She is 3 years old.
I'd be really greatful for any advice.

Not an advise really but just wanted to say that my DS (almost 3 yrs) gets spots as well on his his check or under the lips. The do look like teenage spots, but like your DD they don't seem to cause any discomfort and they disappear in a couple of days. I don't know what is causing it but think it is foodrelated, although I cannot really point out anything special in his food. Not much of a help but wanted to let you know that you are not the only one

Thanks for that, she has been quite ill recently and is still very lacking in energy. That might be the reason.
