Hi ,
Just looking for some advise , i was advised to fill in Dla forms for my twin boys due to their developmental delay by a senco at the special needs group I take them too . Their 3 years old and non verbal , cant follow simple instructions , cant use gestures their only communication is hand leading . But they can sometimes count to 10. They love their numbers. Their on the waiting list for paediatric neurological disabilities but unfortunately thats a year wait and were only halfway through that. Im looking into getting them put on the speech and language waiting lists but unsure wether they will meet the criteria due to other areas of delay such as social interaction. Their not aware of their dangers so can be hard to walk them and the majority of the time they have to be in the pram when outside due to them running off . They need a-lot of supervision as they will put non edible items in their mouths and cant communicate their wants and needs . The nursey have given me a letter to give to theGP for a referral to occupational therapy stating what they struggle with and their needs and asking for them to be assessed by an occupational therapist due to they feel they have complex sensory needs , they are currently on IEPS at nursey . The nursey get extra funding for them to due to their SEN to support them with their interaction and communication .

I was just wondering what supporting evidence i can use , i feel awkward asking the nursery for supporting evidence . Could i ask the health vistor to provide me with this ?

I've never filled in DLA forms. You might be best asking in 5)3 SN Children Section where there might be a few MNers who have experience Flowers
