10yo maybe dyspraxia, can't feel toes

We recently found out that our 10yo can't feel the position of his big toes. He saw the community paediatrician for the first time as a part of his assessments for dyspraxia.

She was testing his reflexes etc and asked him to close his eyes. She then bent his big toes backwards and forwards but he was unable to tell her which position they were in at all.

This would kind of make sense as he's very clumsy on his feet and finds it physically impossible to walk on his tip toes (he falls forwards if he tries).

He's had an initial assessment, ABC test (waiting for results) and an MRI which came back fine.

She's going to refer him on to the neurology department at the local children's hospital for further testing but I was wondering if anyone had heard of anything like this before? She said she doesn't know what would cause it and Google comes back with nothing!
