Hi. My baby is 14 months old, meeting all milestones apart from communication. Knows what we are saying and can follow instructions but does not babble or speak just this constant humming mmmmm noise all day. No pointing or clapping hands. Has anyone else experienced this? The mmm noise has went on for months

My DD had some speech delay. How does your LO score on this SaLT progress checker? If it says "You've answered no to some important questions" then I'd give their helpline a call Wink

Thank you I have just done it and answered no to a few. I just feel deflated because I'm tryinf daily and she just doesn't talk she just hums back at me

Don't get too disheartened just yet, she's still quite young.

I'd book a free callback with an SaLT from Speech & Language UK.

I'd also talk to your HV and ask for DD to be referred for a hearing test.

How did DD get in at her 12 month check?

I will do that tomorrow thank you.

She got on well at her review but she did say her communication is not where it should be so she is coming back out in January to review her.

It's just sad hearing other babies babble when we are out I feel I've done something wrong, it gets me down. But your right she is still young, thank you.
